Status of broadband connection in India | Telecom Regulatory Authority of India | initiative by the government. The Telecom Performance Indicators Report 2022-23, published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), reveals that the number of broadband subscribers (with a minimum downlink speed of 2 Mbps) in the country has reached about 840 million. Out of this, about 340 million and 500 million, respectively, are rural and urban subscribers.
